Abscess: an infection caused by bacteria or parasites that contain pus.
Acne: Acne is short for Acne Vulgaris. Acne is a skin condition that is most commonly found on the face, back, shoulders and chest.

Acrochordon: also known as a Skin Tag. Please refer to definition of Skin Tag.
Albinism: a rare skin disorder characterized by a total or partial lack of melanin in the eyes, skin, or hair.
Angioma: a non-cancerous tumor made up of blood vessels near the surface of the skin.
Atopic Dermatitis: also known as Eczema. Please refer to definition of Eczema.
Basal Cell Carcinoma: the most common form of skin cancer.
Blemish: called Acne. Please refer to definition of Acne.
Boil: infection of the hair follicle.
Botox: a drug used to reduce wrinkles by blocking nerves or paralyzing certain muscles.
Closed Comedo: also called Whitehead, a type of acne that contains an oily substance.
Cold Sore: a lesion around the mouth caused by the herpes simplex virus.
Creeping Eruption: a skin infection caused by parasites that causes severe itching.
Cryosurgery: is the procedure to remove a abnormal tissues on the skin by freezing with liquid nitrogen.
Cyst: a deep lesion that is filled with air, pus or other fluids.
Cystic Acne: a severe form of acne that forms nodules of inflammation.
Dermabrasion: a cosmetic procedure to remove minor skin surface irregularities and scars by making the surface appear smoother.
Dermatitis: inflammation of the skin from many different kinds of skin conditions.
Dermatofibroma: a non-cancerous hard bumps usually found on the legs
Dermis: layer of skin below the epidermis that contains blood vessels, hair follicles, and sweat glands.
Ephelis: also called Freckle. Please refer to definition of Freckle.
Epidermis: the outermost layer of skin.
Erythema Nodosum: a skin condition characterized by tender, red bumps that are usually on the shins.
Erythrasma: a skin infection characterized by irregular pink patches that can turn to brown scales.
Exanthem: a widespread rash.
Excoriation: an area of the skin covered by a scab, usually caused by scratching.
Folliculitis: an inflammation of the hair follicles.
Freckle: clusters of darkened spots on the skin that typically appear on sun-exposed areas. Freckles are genetic
Herpes Zoster: also known as shingles, a painful rash with small blisters usually in a line.
Hirsutism: excessive hair.
Impetigo: a bacterial skin infection common in children age 2 to 6.
Juvederm: a filler used to reduce wrinkles, contains hyaluronic acid.
Laser Resurfacing: a procedure that uses a high-energy light to burn away damaged skin, which includes wrinkles, stretch marks, and small scars.
Liver Spots: a discoloration of the skin caused by sun exposure and aging.
Macule: a flat, colored area of the skin.
Malignant Melanoma: a rare type of skin cancer that begins as a mole that turns cancerous.
Melanocytes: cells located in the bottom layer of skin that produce melanin.
Melasma: dark patches on the face, common in pregnant woman.
Moles: small, dark spots on the skin caused by pigment-producing cells.
Mongolian spots: Bluish-black marks on the lower back and buttocks; affects mainly African-American or Asian children.
Nodule: a lesion that is a hard, raised bump.
Open Comedo: also called Blackhead, a type of acne that develops a blackish bump in the skin.
Paronychia: a bacterial or fungal skin infection around the finger or toenail.
Papules: a small, hard raised area of the skin that does not contain pus.
Perlane: a filler used to reduce wrinkles, contains hyaluronic acid.
Pimple: a inflamed pore on the skin.
Pityriasis Rosea: a common skin condition which is a rash in patches normally found on the torso.
Ringworm: fungal skin infection that is reddish with a white center in the shape of a ring.
Scabies: a skin infection caused by mites and can be transmitted to others.
Scar: an area of fibrous tissue that has formed on the skin after an injury.
Seborrheic Keratosis: a non-cancerous growth resembling warts.
Shingles: also knows as Herpes Zoster. Please refer to definition of Herpes Zoster.
Skin Cancer: a malignant (cancerous) growth or tumor on the skin.
Skin Tags: a small non-cancerous, soft, flesh-colored tumor.
Spider Veins: also knows as Telangiectasia . Please refer to definition of Telangiectasia.
Squamous Cell Carcinoma: form of skin cancer that becomes an open sore.
Stretch Marks: also knows as Striae. Please refer to definition of Striae.
Striae: form of scaring caused by stretching or tearing of the skin.
Telangiectasia: dilated blood vessels near the surface of the skin.
Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis: a life-threatening skin disorder, usually caused by a reaction to medicine.
Tretinoin: a common drug used to treat acne.
Vitiligo: a skin disorder that is caused by the loss of pigment in the skin, that looks like white patches.
Wart: a small non-cancerous skin tumor caused by a virus.

Wrinkle: a ridge, fold or crease in the skin surface.
