Being healthy is not just about the physical aspect of an individual, it is about the overall aspect which includes physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual aspects of life. An individual is not considered totally healthy if one of these aspects is not in it's normal condition.

So how does anger affect your health and life?

Anger is a powerful emotion, and when uncontrolled, it could lead to unhealthy conditions, physically, high blood pressure, anxiety, headaches may occur and worst is severe depression, heart attacks and strokes. The effects on physical health is greatly contributed by emotions, way of thinking, social reasons and lack of spiritual guidance.

How is anger managed?

There are many ways to manage anger, strategies include regular exercise and learning how to relax. People who are stressed can easily get angry and exercise can improve mood and reduce stress levels thus making your anger tone down.

Still, be reminded that aside from regular exercise and relaxation, anger is best ease when you say even a little prayer. According to the study in Ohio University, prayer can help people cope with anger probably by helping people look at things in another perspective.

Overcoming anger depends on how you handle your emotion towards the situation, your way of thinking and acceptance of what is presently experienced, the support of other people around you, the level of faith you have, fear of hurting others and fear of God.

By following and achieving healthy ways to manage anger, an individual is able to prevent physical, emotional, social, mental and spiritual problems, thus making yourself totally healthy in all aspects of your life.
