can a cat have a stroke?

My cat is 18, and has just started to lose her balance. When she walks and especially when she shakes her head, she stumbles over. I also noticed she has a droopy right eye. I took her to the vets and they took blood, they said they had never seen such a healthy and good looking cat at her age. They gave me some pen. and gave her a shot. It's been a week and the pen. is all gone. She is still the same, and she has become very clingy to myself and my husband. Can any one help me????

Cats especially older cats can and do have strokes. ( I am speaking from personal experience here I am not a vet) The remarkable thing is though the do recover.
Kitty needs tlc. Make sure bed, food, water and litter are all within easy access. Keep an eye on kitty to make sure it is drinking well. And most of all cuddle the critter to death. Cats can get depressed when they are ill and personally I think that when they don't get enough attention they can just give up rather than rally from what ever is ailing them.
My cat had a stroke and survived after wards to a ripe old age of 24.
PS...
did the Vet check her ears? Ear mites deep into the channel can give all the symptom
of a stroke.

Cats have wonderful healing abilities. I'll be praying for you!

Thanks for replying. You have described alot if not all of the TLC we gave her. We did bring her to the vet and they couldn't see any ear mites.
She had stopped eating and drinking. She had stopped being herself so we had to take her to the vet for like the 6th time.
The vet finally saw that she had a fast growing tumor (most likely cancerous) and we had to sadly say our good byes.
God Bless.

have you considered cloning?

No I hadn't. I don't think my kids would have even considered it. But thanks for the thought.
