Why Develop Yourself?

Wellness.com Members,

Personal development is an important factor to the health and happiness of most people.

Personal development usually involves the establishment and ongoing refinement of a person’s philosophies about life. We all establish philosophies whether we want to or not.

Some people seem to make more refinements early on and live a much better life. Other people seem to hold tightly to ineffective philosophies do not live the life they want.

A person’s personal growth or development can be measured by their own ability to deal with difficult circumstances.

It can be measured by their happiness or satisfaction with life.

The reason to develop yourself is simple. If you don't, who will?

Through sharing philosophies that work and highlighting ones that don’t, it is our hope that we can all make refinements to our own personal philosophies and live the best life possible.

We welcome your thoughts and questions on this topic.

Be well!

There are many paths to take to achieve the goals you want, Zen being only one (if that is right for your).
For each person they need to discover it for themselves, but first of all you must start down the path. From there you will work out the rest. Find out where you want to be, want you want to be doing in the future... then ask yourself how are your going to get there. Work on improving the skills you need to achieve these goals.
Meditation can help get you in the right frame of mind among other things.
Set your goals, and even set 'mini-goals' which make up the process of achieving the main goal.
Some people like to mental visualise, others often make 'dream wall' (a collect of photos and images of the things you want in life). Goals don't always have to be material things, again, you have to work that out for yourself.
Anyways, good luck and best wishes on your journey.

I believe Jim Rohn ...says it best.
Success is something you attract by becoming an attractive person...Also you cannot change the seasons but you can change yourself.

There is a difference between living and being ALIVE! Often the difference between living and living the good life comes down to a handful of life choices. Nurturing the mind, body and spirit can give you the clarity to address these life choices.

It was a big wake up call for me to realise that I had lost confidence and self-esteem. Always thought I was OK and could get along with people and give a good account of myself. Until a few weeks ago and I listened to my own conversation with someone, it was embarrassing to say the least. I confronted myself and came to the conclusion that I needed help. Have since been reading books about self assertiveness and joined a group

Self development is very essential if you plan on living a healthier lifestyle. You have to find out what works best for you!

Also you must have goals for yourself. If not it will be very hard to gauge any progress, and you really don't have anything to shoot for.

So whatever your physical goals mat be, make sure that you have a plan. You are much more likely to succeed if you do.

Have the mentality that nothing are no one is going to stand in your way. If you do this you should be fine!

Personal development varies on the ability of the person. If that person does nothing on his life, nothing will happen and no development will be involved.

To be able to overcome circumstances that are unavoidable, we must learn to accept failure. From this, we can much develop our senses and learn from our mistakes. In short, experiences will carry on to better personal development.
