For any of you out there trying to rid your child of a pacifier need this may work...

My niece is turning 2 years old next week loves her pacifier for times when she is upset, cranky or tired. She is one of this kids that when she would see her pacifier she would instantly want it. My brother and sister-in-law decided big girls don't use pacifiers and wanted her free of them by her 2nd birthday. They heard from some friends of a trick they could try, they took all of my niece's pacifiers and cut the tips off, they didn't say anything to her, just let her find this out on her own. When she came across a pacifier she put it in her mouth and then went to her Mommy and said "Mommy, broken", when they asked her what happened she said "I bite", she no longer wants/needs her pacifier. They decided to not just take them away, they wanted it to be their daughter's choice to rid herself of the pacifier need, and she has. The sad part is she does think she bit them all and broke them.

Good luck!
