Dr. Mark Walmer and Staff are top notch in my book. Dr. Walmer is very sharp diagnostically. He does not miss any detail of health history. He stays on top of your medications. Of course the patient has to contribute to their own health care management. . The office always follows up with me regarding appointments. I have never felt in better health and I attribute that to Dr. Walmer and his staff.

It was easy to get the appointment time that worked for my schedule. I was greeted with a "please sign in." After a short time I was asked to come to the window to verify insurance information and if I owed anything at all I was told I had to pay it or I wouldn't be able to see the doctor that day! The staff at the Ahwautukee office are very arrogant, but the doctor's assistant's are ok. I think Dr. Walmer does much better with men than women. My husband has seen him quite a few times and felt ok with him, but I didn't feel as secure with him. My last time there, I wasn't feeling good at all, but I couldn't see Walmer so I had to see a nurse practitioner. The person I saw was basically studying to be a nurse practitioner, so after she took my vitals and I told her the problems I was having, she left the room and went to talk to the nurse practitioner. She came back and said she and the nurse practitioner thought it might be the flu and gave me a prescription to take in a couple of days if I didn't feel better. Five hours later I was in an ambulance on my way to the hospital where I was told I had pneumonia and needed to stay in the hospital for a couple of days for antibiotics intravenously - I had a very serious case of pneumonia. I was in the hospital for five days. The nurse practitioner never came into the room to listen to my lungs - I only saw a nurse practitioner wanna be. I haven't been back since. I left messages for Dr. Walmer to call me after I got out of the hospital, but of course I didn't hear from him. The only person I was able to talk to was the office manager.
