Dr. Vettaikorumakankav Vedanarayanan “Veda”

Dr. Veda will serve as the Director of the Neuromuscular Center treating patients with acquired and inherited disease of the brain and spinal cord, peripheral nerves, neuromuscular junction, and muscle. Dr. Veda received his Medical Degree from Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research in India and completed Pediatric residencies at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi India and at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. He then completed a Neurology and Child Neurology residency from Duke University Medical Center and a fellowship in Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine from Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Veda is board certified in Neurology with special qualification in Child Neurology, Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Neurology with added qualification in Clinical Neurophysiology, Neuromuscular Medicine, Autonomic Disorders and Clinical Neuromuscular Pathology and is considered a national expert in the field of Neuromuscular Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, Fellow of the American Academy of Electrodiagnostic and Neuromuscular Medicine and serves on the scientific advisory board of Myasthenia Gravis Foundation. He is also a member of the American Academy of Neurology and Child Neurology Society. Dr. Veda has extensive experience in evaluation and management of Neuromuscular and Autonomic disorders in children and adults including the training of residents and fellows in Neurology, Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He has participated in many clinical trials involving patients with neuromuscular disorders, has published in peer reviewed journals and contributed book chapters to a variety of text books. In his spare time, Dr. Veda enjoys spending time with his wife, Vidya, traveling, listening to classical music and reading about 20th century history.
