Services Southeastern Retina Specialists was founded with the goal providing the most compassionate and technologically advanced vitreoretinal care to patients with retinal diseases in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. Southeastern Retina Specialists has four convenient locations throughout Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and Palatka, Florida as well as Waycross, Georgia.

Our physicians specialize in treating patients with retinal disease such as:
• Macular Degeneration
• Diabetic Retinopathy
• Retinal Detachment
• Macular Hole
• Epiretinal Membranes

as well as treating complications from ocular trauma and complications from previous eye surgeries. Our practice works closely with your general ophthalmologist, optometrist, and primary care physician in order to provide the most comprehensive care possible.

Our physicians are board certified ophthalmologists that have completed an additional training program to become retina specialists. While board certification is not required to practice, it does ensure that our practice meets the standards and qualifications set forth by the American Board of Ophthalmology. After graduation from medical school, our physicians completed an internship in a non-specialty field of medicine of their choosing, as their ophthalmology residency did not start until the year after they completed medical school. After completion of a three year ophthalmology residency, our physicians completed a fellowship specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of vitreoretinal diseases

Our physicians are highly trained and look forward to providing you with the most advanced and compassionate care possible.

At Southeastern Retina Specialists, your vision is our mission!

My husband and I are very happy that we were given the opportunity to go to Dr. Agee. When we arrived at the facility in Waycross, the parking lot was filled and so was the waiting room. However, because of the precision and professionalism of all of the staff, only one doctor, Dr. Shawn Agee, was able to see all of his patients, including me, in a timely fashion.

Dr. AgeeHe was thorough and professiona and also answered our questions, He inforned us about possible effects from taking certain medications and listened to our concerns.
