About

Marsha Kite, MS

Most people come to my office seeking assistance with relationship issues; symptoms of depression and anxiety; substance abuse; eating disorders; and challenges of midlife and aging. Lifestyle balance is a solid approach to wellness -- a healthy body and a peaceful mind.

When coupled with familiar "talk therapy," lifestyle changes [nutrition, physical activity, and other stress-management techniques] bring relief from many distressing symptoms and allow clients to focus on the real issues. Because of their effectiveness, I also offer integrative tools (e.g. botanical medicine, therapeutic breathing) with individuals, families and groups.
Primary Specialty

Holistic Care

Education BA and MS degrees in psychology; post-master’s studies in integrative medical approaches (nutrition, botanical medicine, meditation, yoga); pharmacology; individual/group psychotherapy; treatment techniques for substance abuse.
Training Private practice, in medical facilities, with counseling agencies, in correctional facilities, and as a service provider in homeless shelters. Managed nutrition program for the USDA, supervising childcare facilities. Taught college courses in wellness, human growth and development, and children with special needs.

Aging in place -- remaining at home -- is an area of particular interest to me. Small lifestyle changes have demonstrated value in improving quality of life. With a three-session package, meeting either in my office or the client's home, we set realistic goals and develop a step-by-step personal wellness plan together that will make a difference in quality of life..
