About

Jay Bartley , Certified Structural Integrator

Jay is the owner of Bartley Body Integration – He offers the classic 10 series of Structural Integration - Rolf Method developed by Ida. P. Rolf. Jay brings his awareness of the body to his sessions, merging the classic recipe of Structural Integration with his background in movement and dance.

In 2008 after working in the corporate world for over 10 years, Jay made a drastic change, he quit his 9-5 job and immersed him self in the alternative health and wellness industry.

Working with the human body is not new to Jay – He has an extensive background in movement and professional dance. Since childhood Jay has been fascinated with movement. He was involved in sports and gymnastics as a child – gymnastics is what led him to his first dance class.

He has been a dancer and a maker of dances for over 20 years – studying choreography, ballet, jazz and modern dance – trained in Graham, Alexander, Humphrey and Laban/Bartenieff techniques.

He was a touring member of a few Los Angeles based modern dance companies- The Stephanie Gilliland Company, Tongue and a founding member of Method Contemporary Dance. He was the Co-Artistic Director of Lucid Dance and currently J.J dance.

Jay is a Certified Structural Integrator, graduating from the New School of Structural Integration in Laguna Beach California. His training included structural integration (The Rolf Method), biomechanics and somatic psychology. Jay’s work is designed for the individual – working with their natural alignment, allowing a more functional and easy way to be in your body. “Our lives have become chaotic, busy and noisy. I am committed to offering a calm and safe space to all of my clients and facilitate new ways to inhabit our bodies.”
