About

Charissa Walson, MA, LMHC

Charissa Walson Counseling is founded on the belief that it is through relationship that healing comes. Each of us brings a unique story that has impacted our life in both positive and negative ways.

Each of us endures a personal struggle and we develop methods of coping. When our methods of coping with the world are not working, that is when therapy can support.

Things like the death of a loved one, relationship issues, life transitions, medical struggles, sexual abuse and struggles, depression, and anxiety can create feelings of hopelessness and isolation.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Charissa Walson Counseling is a safe place to bring both hardship and strength in order to find restoration through relationship.

Services I offer individual psychotherapy to adults, adolescents and couples. I believe that therapy is an investment in yourself, with that my desire is to work individually with each client’s needs from once a week to multiple times depending on the nature of the struggle. My fee is $110 per 52 minute session for individual counseling and $120 for couples. I also offer phone contact outside of session as needed for a prorated fee. I understand the financial commitment in my own work as a client and believe that frequency and consistency in treatment generates lasting results.

Payments are to be made at the beginning of each session unless other arrangements are made. I accept cash, check and most major credit cards. I am out of network for insurance companies however most insurance companies reimburse for counseling expenses. I will be more than willing to provide detailed receipt to aid in your reimbursement process with your health insurance.

Individual counseling is created around each individual personal needs and goals. My belief is that our actions, behaviors, thoughts and feeling are all clues to who we are. We are all beautiful with something unique to offer the world around us. We learn how to function in this world through all our experiences; whether they are considered good or bad. These experiences imprint our lives and create our understanding of the world and the way we cope in it. My hope is to support you in the process becoming the person you desire.

Couples
If you are considering couples counseling I admire your commitment for each other and your relationship. Relationships bring both joy and suffering at times. The hope of couples counseling is to have a safe space to examine self and the relationship to bring hope and restoration. As I partner with you to find healing in your relationship we will explore important aspects of your relationship that brought you together as well what brought you into counseling. Relationships are a important part of human life and the health of your relationship is worth the investment.

Eating Disorders
It is hard to imagine a world that is not dominated around when, where, how and if you will eat food. The pressure to perform and hide from your struggle with food can create overwhelming emotional pain. My hope is to partner with you in the recovery process. I believe that we can create a strong support group with nutritional counseling and medical monitoring to help relieve some pressures around health and create structure so healing may begin. I truly believe those who struggle with eating disorders are some of the most hardworking individuals out there and my hope is to free up some of that work put into your eating disorder and give it back to the life you desire.

Business Consultation
I offer business consultation to mental health counselors looking to create their own private practices. We learn how to become therapist but learning how to run a business can be a struggle! We want to see the client and support in health not deal with the business aspects. I offer business consultation to support therapist in learning how to run and maintain the business so you can focus on what you love, THE CLIENT.
