Dr. Pellitier has a reputation as a skilled surgeon. When he did do my bunionectomy, I was appreciative of the nerve blocks that he used to assist with the initial pain but the more contact I had with him the more problems I had. I get the impression that he doesn't like women. He doesn't want to answer a woman's questions. He would rather discuss hunting with a man. My bunionectomy was not successful in both planes but he kept saying that my foot would flatten out over time when he knew that it wouldn't. His office staff at the time had no compassion with my problem getting into the second floor office for my first follow-up appointment. ( I couldn't hop that far on one foot in my weakened condition . ) He ignored my warning that my stomach was very sensitive. He claimed that he could counteract the effects of the Oxycodone. I ended up at the ER with Oxycodone poisioning 2 days after surgery. Worse was the day he removed my stitches. He grabbed one stitch and yanked me across the table expecting all the stitches to be removed at once. He seemed amused while doing this not believing that it hurt me. He was not the least bit disturbed by my cries of pain. ( I had heard like cries before while waiting in the waiting room. ) He should have cut each stitch in turn and worked them out. He only showed minimal care when I was dizzy and about to pass out. My cousin had a bad experience also. When she questioned him about an apparent problem with her surgical results , he yelled at her and refused to answer. I feel that he should have told me the truth about the surgical results and offered insight. I was told by another Dr. that I will eventually have to have the joint replaced. It was a very traumatic event. I am guessing that he only has patience for his "successes" and doesn't want to deal with anything else.
