Missy Porteous, MS, RD, CDE is registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator with over 17 years of professional nutrition experience. She is a graduate of Loma Linda University and has a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology. Her experience includes careers in community-based public health nutrition, clinical outpatient medical nutrition therapy, public speaking, employee wellness, diabetes education and fitness training.

Missy Porteous believes it is her mission to help each person obtain the highest quality of life. She provides individualized care and helps create a treatment plan based on your personal goals and preferences. Her philosophy is that health and happiness are equally attainable.

Nutrition consults are available for diabetes management, hypoglycemia without diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, weight loss or weight management, eating disorders, diverticulosis, irritable bowel, Crohns and colitis. Services Missy Porteous, MS, RD, CDE provides nutrition counseling and medical nutrition therapy for nutrition related conditions to prevent risk of disease, reduce symptoms or reduce reliance on medications. She specializes in prevention and management of chronic illness such as diabetes, pre-diabetes, hypoglycemia, heart disease, gastrointestinal problems, weight management, and eating disorders. Missy is an expert in helping people create plant-based meal plans (including vegetarian or vegan), while ensuring a balanced diet.

Individual nutrition counseling sessions are offered daily by appointment. Sessions are one hour in length. The wait time for an appointment is usually 2-3 weeks. Please call for more information about diabetes education.
