Therapeutic Bowel Care Technicians

Therapeutic Bowel Care is performed primarily on patients with chronic constipation, ibs, encopresis, bowel incontinence, diarrhea, etc. Therapeutic Bowel Care is much like the ever popular Colonic or colon hydro therapy. However unlike this popular fad, we hold ourselves to the highest standards in Bowel Care and Digestive Health. Please do not mistake us for colon hydro therapists. It is a similar therapy, but unlike colon therapists we will only accept patients that are referred by Physicians for digestive health care purposes such as chronic constipation, opiate induced constipation, encopresis, ibs, etc. We do NOT make claims to “detox” your organs, “weight loss” or getting the “plaque off the walls” of the colon, etc. Therapeutic Bowel Care is performed in a Doctor’s office by a trained and certified Technician that is under the direction of a physician. We only accept patients who are being supervised by a Physician and have a prescription for the therapy. Therapeutic Bowel Care is performed with the use of FDA registered devices as well as disposable speculums and hoses for safety and sanitization. This is an odorless and painless therapy. The therapy involves inserting a disposable speculum about two inches into the rectum lined with surgical lube. There is a fresh water tube for the insertion of warm filtered water and a waste tube for the release of the water and waste connected to the speculum. The water is warmed to your body temperature and is gently infused at a rate of 0.5 psi into the colon (like a very slow trickle of water from your faucet). The average patient takes in about 1 to 4 liters of water during each treatment. The warm water softens the constipated fecal matter and when you get a full sensation, the Technician will turn the valve to empty and your natural peristalsis pushes the softened, loosened fecal matter out along with a gentle massage on the top of your abdomen. This process is repeated up to 30 minutes. Afterwards the patient will get on the toilet to release any access waste and water. Most patients will not have another bowel movement for about 24-48 hours. The typical patient will receive 1-3 treatments for up to 2 to 6 weeks or more depending on their condition and the order from their physician. As with any of our treatments, we monitor vital signs before each treatment. Some Doctors (mostly Cardiologists) ask us to monitor vital signs before, during and after each treatment and send those charts over to them. We are happy to give you a copy of your chart or we can send it to your physician with your signature of release.

Services Digestive Help Centers Colonoscopy Bowel Prep: We have been performing bowel prep’s for colonoscopies for numerous Gastroenterologists in the Valley for the last 4 years. Some of their patients who cannot or did not want to do the traditional colonoscopy prep has done Therapeutic Bowel Care treatments and was very pleased with the results. The colonoscopy prep takes a little bit longer than the regular bowel care and extra time must be ordered by your Physician. Some Gastroenterologists use part traditional prep and part therapeutic bowel care as the colonoscopy prep as well. *We do not make recommendations or sell any medications, supplements, dietary needs, etc. as we are not Doctors. However we do have a list of recommended Doctors that we can refer you to. Therapeutic Bowel Care is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. It is only a small part of your Digestive Health and must be in conjunction with the treatment of a Physician, we believe specifically a Gastroenterologist. If you are having Digestive/Constipation issues of any kind, please ask us for a Gastroenterologist referral to get the best care possible for your health and well being. www.digestivehelpcenters.com Serving Phoenix, Scottsdale, Chandler and Peoria, Arizona Call us for an appointment today (602) 717-4858 *Therapeutic Bowel Care is used for digestive problems and a prep for colonoscopies. A study was conducted in 2006 at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut, finding that using colon hydrotherapy (Therapeutic Bowel Care) for colonoscopy prep was easy and accepted over the liquid prep by 96%. The doctors were very pleased that the preps prepared allowed all areas of the colon visible for assessment. Additional Services Colon Hydro therapy
