I went to see Chiropractor Mitch Borst because my lower back had started hurting badly all of the sudden. I am not a professional but from what research I had done I had every symptom of a herniated disc. I told this to him and after he gave me some xrays and put me on the table, he gave me some adjustments and told me I did not have a herniated disc but scheduled me for multilple visits which are typical of a chiro. I actually felt worse after the adjustment but since I had been to chiropractors in the past and knew it took time I continued to go back. The problem continued to get worse. Finally i went to a different chiropractor who was very upset that I had not been diagnosed with a herniated disc as he said it was very clear that is what I had and it was dangerous the way that Mitch Borst had continued to adjust me. At this point I was very concerned so I went to an MD who sent me to get an MRI, and sure enough I had a badly herniated disc, which explained the pain down my legs and glutes from the herniation pinching the nerves. My new chiro informed me that it was likely the problem had become even worse because of the previous adjustments I had received which I should not have, given the herniated disc. I know Mr. Borst is human and everyone makes mistakes but I wanted to give this feedback as his mistake was at the cost of my health, which as a Chiropractor he should have known better. I hope he reads this review and gets further training as to how to diagnose herniated discs so that another patient of his does not go through what I went through with him.
