About
First, you should know that I LOVE my work! I wake up everyday excited about helping my patients. It was not always that way. When I first starting my medical career back in the 1990′s, I spent my days listening to patients just long enough to decide what label I was going to give them as their diagnosis, and then I wrote prescriptions for big pharma meds.
I still write prescriptions, but only as a last resort. Now I have a low volume, high quality practice where I listen to my patients stories and give them as much time as they need. I work to determine why they are experiencing whatever constellation of symptoms they have that caused them to seek medical help to begin with.
I do testing as indicated, some of it I learned about in my initial medical training years ago, and lots of it didnt even exist then. The thing is, there are so many tests that are cutting edge and available now because of the incredible advances in lab technology. It is really exciting!
I can test neurotransmitters to help me know exactly what to do if my patient is depressed, anxious, has insomnia, has ADD/ADHD, or cant lose weight.
I can test for genetic SNPs to know how to help my patient avoid misery from inherited disorders. I do all sorts of nutritional and metabolic testing.
It is like I have a crystal ball some days! I even have one patient who calls me the wizard!
