Dr John Payne was my doctor from 2000-2021. I had been diagnosed with an arachnoid cyst in my cerebellum which was the cause of my migraine headaches. He prescribed Imitrex, the recommended medicine for migraines at that time. He was very patient but firm me that I needed surgery as soon as possible. I chose to put off the surgery as I was doing student teaching at the time; eventually, he performed an operation where he implanted a VP shunt to alleviate pressure in my brain by draining cerebral, spinal fluid from my brain into my body cavity, thereby stopping the migraines. I was able to go home the very next day.
The surgery was successful and I have not had any more migraines since 2001. I believe that Dr. Payne is an excellent surgeon, and recommend him to other people requiring neurological treatment and brain surgery.
