This woman, although kind and approachable, has no clue how to conduct a session. Talking about her weekends, husband, etc isn't going to help me move forward in my life. I spent more time filling out battery tests than I ever did talking. I specifically told her in a confidential phone call to NOT in any way mention my son's birth father unless he brought it up...within moments of our first visit, she blurted out several questions about him to my son. This was a waste of our time and money....3 visits and no real therapy.

Julie is the epitome of bad counselors. I visited Julie for marriage counseling during my first marriage. I feel like she blamed me for every problem in my marriage, but failed to remember the most crucial issues leading up to my/ our problems. We had been going for a couple of months, talking mostly about a key issue, when she had suddenly said "wait a minute, I had no idea about X issue!" Um, what have we been talking about the last several sessions? I don't know what my insurance company was paying her for, because she certainly didn't listen, she was just a talking head. Don't assume a counselor is worth going to, just because they are in network for you. I'm sure some people are very happy with her, but she just didn't mesh with me.

I am now very happy in my second marriage and have a thriving little one as the result of our happy union, despite her insistence that my personality disorders would prevent me from ever maintaining a happy relationship. Save your marriage and money. Stay away from Julie.
