PT in Lindenhurst was great and got my shoulder moving again so I could function better at work.

I would have to say that medical wise, my experience their was less than professional, and wait times while I was there were ridiculous. I went to Vista Linderhurst after getting in a situation with a horse's abdomen and nearly blacked out. Thinking that it would be faster to take me to Vista Linderhurst to get my head neck and back pain checked, that's where I went. Well, I waited in the waiting Room for close to an hour, with no one else in the building patient wise. And, then I was sent to a triage room instead of a regular room, which there were available beds as I was going back there, and told to sit in a plastic chair and describe my symptoms. After that I was told to stay in said plastic chair for another half hour with no pain meds, no cervical collar, and I had to maintain my own head position which is really difficult to do. I was eventually moved to a room, across the hall, on a stretcher that was at a 90 degree angle, and still told to maintain my own head position. So, I sat there, like this, for about two and a half hours, with the nurses and doctors station in sight, and they were all sitting there doing nothing. Finally, after two and a half hours a doctor comes in to see me and throws an ill fitting C-collar on me, throwing my head and neck out of alignment, causing more pain, and still no pain meds. I was then told to walk down the hall, while still in pain, and bend over a toilet to pee in a cup for a pregnancy test. Something that they could have done just as easily with a blood sample and quick test, from the poorly positioned stretcher that I was sitting on. Eventually I was so fed up that I tore off the C-collar, walked out to the nurses station, carefully, and signed myself out of there AMA (Against Medical Advice) and headed to a much better hospital with my parents, Aurora Medical Centre Kenosha. Was never given any sort of pain meds the entire time that I was at Lindenhurst. And, within the same amount of time that it took me to just see a doctor at Lindenhurst, I had EVERYTHING done at Aurora, including a diagnoses. All tests, all scans, a properly fitting C-collar, all questions asked, LYING down in a proper position. Completely efficient and professional. Everything Vista is not when it comes to providing medical care to the patients in their hospitals.

The reason that I gave this review two stars is because I am coming at this from a different angle as well. The teaching side of things. I went through Vista Medical Centre's EMS program for Basics, and absolutely loved it. If I ever decide to go through Paramedic class, Vista will be my first choice. Great teachers, great classroom setting, amazing set up for the class. Very hands on and interactive just like the class was supposed to be. And yes, I even learned a lot from the Medical staff at East. Going through this class was the second time that I had gone through any sort of EMS class. And, I had the best experience. If you would you like a great teaching hospital to get into the EMS field, I would highly recommend this hospital. To actually receive medical attention as a patient, go somewhere else. Lake Forest, Condell, Good Shepard, Aurora, St. Catherine's. Anywhere but Vista if you have the choice.
