I am a brand new patient of Dr. Leavitt, I set him as my primary provider on my insurance. I was so terribly disappointed on my first visit to his office. I found Dr. Leavitt impersonal, completely unfriendly, noncommunicative, completely uninterested in me personally as his patient, and just not someone anyone would place faith in as their doctor. If you can't communicate with your doctor, what good are they? I really did crash and burn with this doctor.

I noted on many of these one star reviews, many people complain that they pay to see a doctor and are seen by a nurse practitioner. On my second visit to Dr. Leavitt's office I was also shuffled to a nurse practitioner. It is common knowledge he does not see most of his patients, but rather his office staff (nurse practitioners) see the bulk of the patients.

I wasted almost an entire day with the refill of one pain prescription. The prescription was written as follows: OXYCODNONE-APAP 10-325 mg TAB.

I explained to the nurse practitioner and several of their office staff that the APAP, which is acetaminophen makes me extremely sleepy and when I took the prescription as prescribed, I could depend on literally being put to sleep. When I requesed a refIll, I asked for the 10 mg OXYCODONE alone without the acetaminophen. Their reply was the OXYCODONE without the acetaminophen was a "different" OXYCODONE, DEA considered it much stronger, therefore they could not write the prescription without the acetaminophen.

I called my pharmacy, spoke to one of the pharmacists and she said with or without the acetaminophen, the OXYCODONE IS 10 mg, as shown on the prescription, and it would be exactly the same with or without the acetaminophen, and any claim by the doctor's office about DEA considering it a stronger, more dangerous compound is just straight out BS. Yet I argued with these people for any entire afternoon and got nowhere and Dr. Leavitt was not in the office at all.

We patients can only take so much, so I said, go ahead and just fill it again with the acetaminophen, however, this will be my last trip to Dr. Paul Leavitt's office, life is too short to deal with a doctor that is clearly not interested in me as a patient. Oh, I should also mention it's been hours since I told them to please "immediately" phone that prescription in to the pharmacy. Speaking of the pharmacy, the pharmacist told me, since they refused to drop the actaminophen off the script, I should just drink a big cup of coffee everytime I take the medication, how about that, thank you Dr. Leavitt! I don't care for coffee! I have followed with the pharmacy over and over and over again, still no prescription sent to them electronically. As I said, we patients can only stand so much abuse, I'm OUT!
