It is 4 month and 2 weeks since my last visit with Lisa Flores. In the beginning, Lisa opened my eyes to the fact that I lie to my self about the exploitive relationships I have with my family. For this, I am very grateful.

Coming from a history of emotional abuse, it has taken me until today to get up the nerve to reveal the way Lisa counselled me during my family crisis when my daughter passed away on March 19. I sought Lisa's help to navigate my rough family relationship.

I graphically explained to Lisa that my son was intimidating me to take the xanax and klonopin he left at my house or he would have me committed and never speak to me again. Lisa's reply was "are you sure? Now don't you go being a problem!" I asked Lisa if she wanted to see the pills, and she declined.

While explaining my session to a friend, she explained that Lisa's response was unprofessional! Lisa was supposed to be my advocate; Lisa "gaslighted" me by trying to make me question my experience; and as a mental health professional, Lisa knows that xanax and klonopin are highly addictive, controlled medications, which should have resulted in Lisa telling me to not take the medications and turn them over to law enforcement.

On my last virtual session with Lisa, I told her that she did not counsel me appropriately, sighting the things she said to me during our previous session. At this point, Lisa had a radical change in her facial expression and said that my "trust in her has been broken...she could no longer treat me". She immediately terminated the session and billed me the $40 co-pay.

The intention of this review is to save anyone with a catastrophic family crisis from leaning on a counselor that is not capable of counseling appropriately. Lisa is a great counselor for dealing with minor family issues, but I don't see her being able to deal a real family crisis of my magnitude.
