My wife and I both use CPAP machines that we started with the CareCentrix company a few years ago. CareCentrix always provided good service and we received supplies as needed and on time. When they changed to Lincare the service went down drastically. I went more than six months without receiving new supplies due to some glitch in their system regarding how my insurances were billed. During this time we made multiple calls to Lincare to provide the information that they said they needed and still the supplies did not arrive. Finally, after my wife made two trips to the local office the problem was resolved and supplies started to flow again. Even then sometimes the orders were incomplete based on what we needed. Another issue that we had was having each other on file to be able to speak for the other on issues related to medical supplies. We also did that multiple times. The final straw came recently when my wife was scheduled for open heart surgery at UAB. We received new CPAP supplies just before traveling to Birmingham for her procedure. Thinking that having fresh supplies for her stay in the hospital would be nice, we packed the latest supply order and departed. When I started to set up her CPAP that evening, I found the new hose Lincare had provided was broken in two places and totally useless. I gave her the hose from my CPAP and spent 11 nights sleeping in the hotel without my breathing machine. After we got home I called Lincare to complain. After once again being required to have my wife, who is recovering from open heart surgery, speak into the phone and give them approval (again) for me to speak on her behalf, I was transferred to a supervisor who took my complaint. She was very apologetic and when I asked if they could overnight a new tube for my wife she explained they could not, but would sent it by two day express mail. I know she is just trying to do her job, but my level of frustration dealing with Lincare and their seemingly endless problems is at its highest level.
