I ended up taking my dog to that practice twice. The first time, I dealt with Dr. Mullins, and she was fantastic. The second time I got Dr. Newman. I honestly expected him to be as great as Dr. Mullins. I was sorely disappointed. It was my second visit with my dog that has IVDD. He was in the room long enough to say tell me in a very harsh tone that my dog wouldn't get better without surgery but he wasn't going to do it for free. He was very insensitive, and had me convinced my dog would live his life in pain because of what he said. I was about to schedule an appointment to have him put down when a friend of mine stepped in. He was given Rimadyl and has made excellent progress as a result. Three weeks later, he can almost run again. I will absolutely never go back to his practice. He has no business being in the line of work he's in.
