If you've never been here before you might be a little nervous about the casual atmosphere in the office. However, I can't say enough about how happy I am to have found her. I first took my dog in to see her as a second opinion on a torn ACL.
The Rice Lake Animal Hospital had very bluntly told me that the surgery would cost close to $2000 and that if I didn't do it I might as well put the dog down. I was a college student at the time and couldn't possibly have afforded it.
I took her to Bear Creek on a suggestion from a friend of my mother's. Dr. Erickson sat down on the floor with my dog, made her feel safe and comfortable, and from the floor explained all the options. She told me that a dog can live out a happy life with a torn ACL, however once they've torn one, there's a 50% chance that they'll tear another. Once that happens, something needs to be done. She reassured me that I had options and that I was not a bad person if I chose to wait on the surgery.
In the end I was able to do the surgery at Bear Creek because their prices are so SO much more reasonable than other places in the area.
Please give this place a chance. They're in it for the right reasons!
I'm sorry but I just can't take my dog here again. The smell is so bad in this animal hospital that I had to step outside on several occasions. I can't believe that the people working here can't smel l this. It smells of urine and is not clean. I think too much of my dog to bring her here again.
