History
Established in 1994

Animals Unlimited has been a staple to the Jackson community for 17 years. Dr. Valerie Anderson started the hospital in 1994 and was the solo veterinarian until 2011 when she hired Dr. Genevieve Duncklee-Davis as a second veterinarian. Both doctors hold small small and large animal appointments each day and also do surgery daily.

In July 2010 a new hospital was built across the road from the previous building. The new building features:
-2 spacious surgery suits
-3 small animal exam rooms
-separate cat and dog boarding rooms
-large dog kennels with rundoor to the covered outdoor atrium kennels
-4 large animal stalls
-large animal isolation stall
-a large animal treatment room
-an ultrasound and endoscopy room
-a radiology room
-a laboratory for blood samples
-a spacious reception area
-grooming room with large doggie bathtub

I've gone to Animals Unlimited for 8+ years off and on for routine care. For more serious things, I got to Shawnee Animal Clinic in Portsmouth (A+ service). I recently became very frustrated. On two occasions the staff at the front desk were very rude; didn't acknowledge me even coming in the door and standing at the counter for several minutes - although they were seated directly in front of me. This was close to closing time, it's probably been a long day so I'm sympathetic to that. I tried to smile and be friendly. However, little/no eye contact and very short and rude. There was a mix up with a prescription from OSU, and they were not even apologetic or even attempting to fix the problem. When asking if I could get the med somewhere else, she states "Well I don't even know where the script is." (turns out it had been called in) Regardless of that, she showed little concern for the mix up and seemed as though she could have cared less. The previous time, there was an overall cold/shortness - which I blew off thinking it was just a "bad day". I will not be returning to Animals Unlimited. I was so upset by the lack of concern/care that they showed. I will say, I do love the younger vet (name?). Anyways, portsmouth may be close to an hour, but they are WONDERFUL and I can take the drive.

They made sure every single question I had was answered, and are always available if I think of any more questions I want answered. They made the extra effort to make sure every question and concern I had was addressed. This veterinarian was so incredibly compassionate when my pet was sick. They consoled me when I was upset . I have had pets all my life and have never found a veterinary office this good. I felt absolutely at ease leaving my pet here- everything is brand-new and top of the line. Their equipment is all the most advanced, so I knew my pet would be getting top of the line treatment. Their staff is very friendly and professional.
