Dr. Spaulding really pushed me to have surgery done on my dogs rear legs. He wanted to send me to a surgeon to have it done. I went to a different surgeon for a second opinion and after much thought, I decided against the surgery. When I would go back with my dog for other reasons, Dr. Spaulding would make sarcastic remarks about the fact that I didn't do the surgery. Now 5 years later, at 12 years old, my dog is fine. Our current vet who is also an orthopedic surgeon stated that my dog is in great shape for his age. He runs and plays and is very happy. So listen to your gut when making such serious decisions.
