I am writing this letter to complement and praise the Villa Therese Catholic Clinic here in Santa Fe adjacent to the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis of Assie. Recently my wife and I visited the clinic because of some worrisome skin lesions. We were kindly greeted at the office desk and introduced to Dr. Jane Haher, a retired plastic surgeon, who volunteers her time at the Clinic. I can only tell you that the medical service at the Clinic was outstanding.
Being a semi-retired pathologist, Dr. Haher consulted with me on a recent case she had. The patient was a 60 year old indigent male with a black pigmented lesion on his ear. This was suspicious for malignant melanoma. Dr. Haher removed this lesion and the result of her surgery was beautiful. This patient’s life was possibly saved because of the availability of this service.
I hope and pray that this wonderful clinic which serves the poor and needy here in Santa Fe will remain open and viable. This clinic only accepts donations and does not accept insurance. We are truly blessed with this service.
