My dog was having a non-stop seizure that he just would not come out of. We tried to rush him to Best Friends in St. Robert but they couldn't find his file (they found my other dog's file but not his) therefore they refused to help him. I called PVC & they told me to bring him in immediately. They were waiting for us & they immediately took my dog (still seizing) back. The staff was very friendly & the vet was quick to run tests & diagnose that my dog had been poisoned. Euthanasia was the best option because nothing could be done to save my dog at this point. The vet was very descriptive in explaining exactly what was happening to my dog, giving details in a way I could understand of what antifreeze does to animals. The assistant kept offering me a chair (apparently I looked like I was going to pass out.) I wasn't able to be in the room during the euthanasia but I had a friend with me that stayed & said it was very quick & he was very gentle with my furbaby. He held his little face to his as he took his last breath. You could tell he cared, which meant the world to me. He had a few more questions but knew I wasn't in any state to see my furbaby like that so he dropped what he was doing & went out of his way to block the doorway so there was no chance of me seeing him accidentally while I answered any remaining questions. This vet doesn't sugar coat. He's a no fluff kind of guy & can seem a bit intimidating but he has a very big, very soft heart. His love for animals is obvious. I highly recommend him to anyone & from now on he is the only vet I'll take my furbabies to.

You can not ask for a kinder, most honest caretaker for your pets. My pets (extended family members I might add) have been seeing Dr. Struckhoff since about 2000 when we had a bad experience at Best Friends clinic.

We recently lost a valuable member of our family named Precious. Dr. warned me years ago about getting her spayed. She ended up with infection and ultimately we lost her.

This pet came full circle with Dr. Struckoff. He saved her life when she was born, thus given the name Miricle at birth, and he saved her life once again before she passed. It was an unfortunate accident that took her away from us and Dr. was about as broken up about her loss as we were.

So far he has taken care of Binki, Teddybear, Precious and Koda. Precious and Binki are no longer with us. I had to put Binki down and the way this was done... I just can't explain it. I can say it was in the most caring and loving way. The staff... he could not ask for a better staff. They compliment his way of work.

Thank you Dr. Struckhoff. As we still mourn for the loss of our little Precious, you gave us a few more days with her to say goodbye. I can't thank you enough.
