We don't know where to begin. As family members (relatives) of hers who have adopted children ourselves and are professionals in the field of education, special education, cognitive development, and neurological development; Carolyn abused her professional position asa counseloras a counselor with family members. She participated in making unverified judgments that were based on her personal familial angst rather than evidenced-based information and then caused undo harm to family members. Rather than helping to support the long term wellbeing of a family member's disabled child/young adult by using her professional credentials, she misused the county/city systems. As a family member she could have been available to help with respite, IEP meetings, and general family childcare for a disabled child but she did not. As a result, Carolyn has never participated in the work to support her own family members with adopted children, who have special adoptive needs. On her web page she claims she has experience with adopted and foster children. Carolyn has limited experience. Be careful with her advice.

Carolyn is extremely supportive and sympathetic reminding you to be gentle to yourself. She has a way of helping you see the connection between your feelings and things going on in your life that you didn’t connect on your own. She has helped my children and myself work through some difficult subjects. My daughter continues to see her when she can and gets great comfort working through the challenges faced by a teenager today.
