My mother has been on hospice with Vitas in OC, California since Oct 2009. Transitioning to SW Hospice June 2010 has been a bit of a disappointment for the following reasons:

1. She can only get a 2 week supply of meds at a time rather than a 30 day supply.
2. Her meds are no longer Fed Ex'd to us, they must be picked up.
3. One day the nurse came for her weekly visit my mother had a fever which was overlooked because her temperature wasn't taken.
4. I had to make 3 trips in 2 days this week to pick up her meds at the pharmacy because once the pharmacy hadn't received the request from Hospice and the second time because 2 meds were not given to me on the first pickup. This resulted in my mother having quite a bit of stomach discomfort for the next 2 days.

And she has only been with Southwest since the first of June, short of a month. While we both appreciate the hospice service, it could be improved upon.
