I am able to write this review after a couple of days of departing, forever, from CB’s Hair Design. I was so upset once I made it home from getting my hair done and looking in the mirror at the mess Kyra (an inexperienced stylist) had made and received payment. I thought as a totally dissatisfied customer I, simply, would not return to the salon. However, a second thought led me to write this review so that others will be forewarned! To start, I could have had my grandson who is six years old cut my hair and I would have been happier with the results, and I am quite sure he would have had just as much fun “playing” with the scissors. Kyra, the stylist, and I use this term with much hesitation, first removed a weave that she put in just the week prior. I am a “natural” and she put the glue directly onto a stocking cap which, of course, seeped onto and attached to my hair and scalp. This she did because she did not have time to do a “sew-in” and with stating the glue would wash off with ease. Well, she could not get the weave off without pulling out pieces of my hair out with it. My scalp is welt and has opened slits from the yanking and pulling to remove the weave, and when I made it home after the shampooing and cutting, there remained glue in my hair. To shorten the rehashing of this fiasco, I will bullet the rest: • I had to tell her to stop cutting snatches out of my hair because I wanted to have some hair remaining on my head. • She cut my hair while it was wet, completely wet. No drying. • The back of my hair is so jacked that I will have to go to a “real” stylist to rectify this Frankenstein Masterpiece. • Kyra asked me to go to a barbershop located next CB’s Hair Design so that my hair could be lined. She states that she does not have any clippers to do linings. Kyra, also, does not possess other necessary tools to do the craft: no clippers, no hair nets, no hair color (rinses or dyes, but she does have bleach), not enough time or the proper skills and knowledge to do hair professionally. • Speaking of professionalism, it would be beneficial if Kyra would stop, listen, and learn what she needs to do before bad-mouthing other stylists in the salon. Yes, Debbie, Matilda, and other stylists in the shop have the experience and know-how to “talk the talk” and “walk the walk,” but Kyra is a “wannabe” stylist playing in the game. Now, that you have been warned; you can enter Kyra’s booth and sit in her chair at your own risk. You may have to pay the same high price as I did, the shame and humiliation of a “bad” hairdo. I suggest going to go someone who can at least fade a natural. Oh yeah, Kyra boasted about being a dynamic cutter before cutting my hair. What the what?
