Today I had the misfortune of meeting the owner of Carlo & company salon up close and personal. I am a volunteer for a local animal shelter. While setting up our table in front of a pet store two doors away from Carlo’s salon with another volunteer Carlo approached us in an aggressive manner. He yelled that we weren’t volunteers but a “flea market” and a “fire hazard.” He also insisted that we had been there the week prior when this was the first time at this location. Carlo then repeatedly banged on the window until the manager came outside. He put his finger in her face and threatened her saying repeatedly “don’t mess with me.” After the manager calmly told him that she was taking care of the situation and would be calling the management company he continued to put his face and finger in her face even as she backed away. We moved our display inside the pet store because he seemed very unstable. Due to this we missed all the foot traffic for homeless pets on such a beautiful and busy Saturday afternoon. It’s really unfortunate that because of Carlo we lost out on some great opportunities for charity. I sincerely hope that anyone reading this who has a pet at home or loves animals as much as we do considers this before going to or returning to this salon.
