After being diagnosed with a form of cancer, I needed to see many types of doctors for a baseline analysis of my health. I knew I probably needed new glasses since I had been experiencing some difficulty with my current pair, almost 2 years old. After seeing Dr. Shen the first time I was shocked at the level of care she provided. She took her time to understand my past and current medical history to determine the cause of my vision impairment, rather than write a prescription for glasses and send me on my way - like every other eye doc I've ever seen. What a relief that I wasn't a number or another insurance copay since I had experienced enough of that with the barrage of doctor offices I recently visited. On my follow up visit, my infection had cleared. Spring was upon us and it was time for allergy season, with her advice I began using an eye drop -- so far I haven't had to use any other allergy meds!! This has been the best spring season for me and the awful pollen hasn't gotten in the way. If you are looking for a caring eye physician, one that offers you a say in your health I highly recommend Dr. Shen.

My son has been under the care and direction of Dr Shen for two years. At age 11, going into middle school, appearance, self confidence and convenience were a must! We decided to try CRT. The results have been beyond expected! He wears his contacts only at night (under our roof and supervision) and then sees 20/20 all day. He is very active in swimming and soccer so this has been amazing for him! Due to the CRT, my sons vision has remained unchanged over the past two years- no deterioation at all. Dr Shen has continually taught my son in the care and up keep of the contacs and his vision. She obviously taught him verbally, but also reinforced the information through role play and with written documentation to take home. Dr Shen has spent a great deal of time with him, building a great rapport. She truly has his best interest at heart and has been a blessing!
