About Tanya Vallianos

It has been my pleasure to have counseled children, adults, and seniors in various settings/agencies since 1998. I have been in private practice since 2003 and have guided clients through many different issues, including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, life transitions, chronic illness, women's isues, trauma backgrounds, spiritual crises, and relationship issues. In addition to my private practice, I am the co-founder of The Expressive Arts Program at McKee Medical Center in Loveland, CO where I facilitate a weekly art therapy group in the Cancer Center for cancer patients, cancer survivors, and family members. I also conduct weekly art therapy sessions at bedside with patients within the Medical Center. I am also the Northern Colorado Art Consultant for the "Memories in the Making" art program of the Alzheimers Association of Colorado. My purpose is to oversee the many residential sites that participate in this program in order to maintain the quality and authenticity of the groups, and to conduct several trainings per year for facilitators of those art groups.

An integrative perspective, utilizing a blend of both eastern and western philosophy/modalities, guides my work. Using art as therapy with mindfulness and body-centered practices (i.e. EMDR, Somatic Experiencing), allows clients to engage on all levels, body, mind, and spirit. my approach is warm gentle, and compassionate, as well as informative, direct and practical. I work with each person as an individual creating a therapeutic environment that is unique to that person's needs. The office setting is comfortable and inviting. My clients' report that our work together allows them to connect more deeply to themselves and others, to communicate their thoughts and feelings more effectively and clearly with others, to find more stability and joy in their lives through the reduction of negative effects, such as accute and chronic anxiety and depression, and to experience greater self-worth and self-confidence. If in reading this profile you feel attracted to or are further curious about the work that I do, I welcome your inquiries. Please feel free to call for a complementary phone consultation.
