This facility should be visited by the state on a more frequent basis. The families of the residents here should be made aware of how their loved ones are being verbally and mentally abused. The young CNAs who actually stand up for the resident's rights are being fired without ceremony. It doesn't matter how polite, how dependable, how much the residents love them, how hard they work (including their willingness to come in on their days off) or how seriously they take the training they received regarding the care and compassion it requires to care for the residents. If the LPN's or the RN's are being rude to the residents, the CNAs are required to keep their mouths shut or run the risk of being FIRED. The residents are nothing but numbers for the higher-ups to crunch and the young CNAs who actually care are being crushed under the weight of "seeing" but "not seeing." To "see" and "report" is to be called "insubordinate" and fired. No one sticks up for the young CNA not even his or her co-workers. Can't really blame them for deciding to keep their neck(s) off the chopping block by hiding behind blind/dumb silence while their co-worker is being mistreated. They need their job. SHAME SHAME ON TWIN RIVERS HEALTH & REHABILITATION!!!! Beauty of the building does NOT always equal beautiful service or treatment of young staff.
The reviews here make it sound like this is a doctor's office. It's not. It is a nursing home--a very loud, understaffed nursing home.
The noise is so bad sometimes that you cannot carry on a conversation unless you shut the door to the room. Doctor only visits sporadically and seems affronted if you want to stop him for a moment and ask questions. There aren't enough nurses to take care of everyone the way they should. They seem to always be advertising for help.
The only positive thing I can say is that the young aides and helpers are very good and respectful of the patients. They are the only ones here who seem to give a d**n about the people there.
