Jason Luban, L.Ac.

Jason Luban is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of California, and is a Diplomate of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine with the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He received his Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Academy of Chinese Culture & Health Sciences, one of the oldest and most established acupuncture schools in the United States. He has used Chinese medicine successfully for a wide range of disorders, and has worked extensively with people with chronic disorders, as well as a variety of orthopedic conditions.

Jason is also the founder and chief developer at Trigram Software (on the Web at Trigram.com), the leading provider of software to the complementary medicine community.

Jason has previously worked with physicians, physical therapists, and chiropractors at several orthopedics clinics and at California Pacific Medical Center. He has advanced training in orthopedics, Hepatitis C, chronic pain disorders, and he did his Master’s thesis on Chinese medicine for women’s health. Jason has spent the last seven years studying Taoist aspects of Chinese medicine, including meditation, feng shui, astrology, and diet as they relate to medicine.

I was worried that the acupuncturist was going to wear an obnoxious fragrance, because I've dealt with that at other places, but they didn't even wear anything. It was fantastic to be able to breathe freely the entire time. I really admire them for being more than willing to ask for help from other professionals in the field when they don't have an answer to my question. They aren't even slightly arrogant, and I'm confident they always have my best interest at heart. They were one of the kindest, most caring staff I've ever dealt with. It didn't matter how many times I called with a question or concern, they were always happy to help me and address my issues.

I went to Dr. Luban for treatment of a chronic pain condition in my hip that was not getting better after surgery, drugs, chiropractors, and some wacky treatments I won't go into. I was skeptical, I have to admit, but Jason won me over quickly with his self-effacing wit and deep knowlege, and I was especially impressed when he straight-up admitted that he might NOT be able to help me. But help he did--after 3 treatments, I was 90% better, and good enough to go on with my life without pain.

I put an 'average; udner insurance coverage (and a 4 star under cost) because he doesn't take insurance, but he does give you the invoice to send in so your insurance company will reimburse you.
