J. William Finley, MD, "Bill", joined The Everett Clinic in 2003. He received his medical degree from the University of Washington in 1996 and completed General Surgery residency at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. He also completed a Surgical Oncology & Endoscopy Fellowship at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York. In January 2008, he and his surgical colleagues in Everett initiated the General Surgery Team (GST), in a partnership between The Everett Clinic and Providence Regional Medical Center-Everett. In January of 2015, the program was renamed Trauma & Acute Care Surgery (TACS). TACS is a successful program, unique for non-academic medical centers, providing 24 hours per day/7 days per week in-hospital surgical coverage for patients with emergent, urgent, and traumatic surgical needs. He served as the Medical Director for TACS from 2008 to 2016. He also served as a Surgical Provider Informaticist with Providence Health System, optimizing the use of an electronic health record (EHR) in the care of surgical patients.

During his sabbatical from the Everett Clinic in 2016-17, he pursued addition fellowship training at the Oregon Health & Sciences University in Portland, Oregon in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care. He is also pursuing a Masters in Business Administration & Medical Administration through the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
