I was trying to become a new patient. I had an appointment on the third week of June/2022. They called me on the day of the appointment (I had already taken the day off from work to go there) and told me that the doctor would be in surgery, and they had to cancel. That is understandable. However, they said since I am a new patient, they only have availability for me two months later. While trying to solve the issue, I was on hold for a long time, and two people could not find my information. I am certainly not going back to this clinic.

Not sure about the doctors (we never did see a doctor) but from the moment we walked in the front desk acted like we were inconveniencing them. When you (the customer) start out by asking how someone (the receptionist) is and they roll their eyes at you; I am pretty sure it isn't you giving the attitude and that is how it started when I walked in. So, I sat in the waiting room while my wife tried to check in for her appointment. I watched all four ladies at the front desk act the same towards everyone that walked up there. When the phone would ring they would roll their eyes and act irritated that they had to stop their conversation with the girl next to them and answer it.

We were referred as a high risk pregnancy. They rescheduled our appointment because when it was made they didn't realize the doctor wasn't in town. Seriously? Then, when we showed up the girls up front refused to check my wife in because her referral wasn't up front and they refused to check on it. When we finally got that straightened out it was 5 minutes into her appointment time so they refused to see her. At this point we asked to see the manager.

The manager's (Office and Billing) did not introduce themselves, did not get out of their chair, did not stop their conversation just gave us a sideways glance and said come in. When we stated the issue with the referral the response was; "That isn't how we do business, they should have checked for you." Then the "managers" continued without going out front to correct them. So, no interest in actually managing or even getting the front girls response or rebuttal. We could have been making this all up.

My wife is crying from the beginning of all this because she is high risk, the office (Monarch Women's Wellness) has rescheduled her appointment once, they refuse to see us today (even if we wait until there is an opening; keep in mind we are still in our "appointment time"), and every single "girl" in this office is acting rude and inconsiderate. The end of the conversation is when the two "managers" state that they don't see the type of high risk pregnancies that we are. Keep in mind this is exactly why we were referred to Monarch by Portsmouth. Plus, my wife asked the girl making the appointment to ensure they did and then my wife confirmed they would see her with one of the nurses (TJ).

I am not sure what Monarch's "standard" practice is as the "managers" made no effort to confirm who said what, they simply wanted us to leave and refused to see my wife with no help in recommending or finding someone that would see her. My wife informed the managers that she had confirmed these very facts (they would see her) with a nurse and the "managers" reply was; "I don't know why someone would tell you that, we never see that type of high risk." No effort to find out from the doctor, or nurse, if they do. The weirdest part of this is that Portsmouth Naval Hospital referred us to them for the very fact that Monarch is contracted to see this type of high risk pregnancy. Maybe someone should act like a manager and manage this place.
