my last visit to Dr. Allen's office resulted in a bill of over $500 for 25 minutes of looking over my skin and "freezing" some trouble areas. i have no insurance. they offered a discount if i paid cash which is what i had done previously. i expressed my displeasure and disagreement as to the amount (HUGE!) i was charged at the billing window. while waiting for someone from the billing office to call and explain to me how 25 minutes of non surgical treatment could possibly cost SO MUCH MONEY, i made a few payments over the next 6 - 8 months. the only time i got a phone call was when they called to ask me to pay the remaining balance on my account which i had not paid. each time i asked the woman who called to explain to me why my bill was so high for 25 minutes of "service". now, the account has been turned over to a collections company which has caused me to become very angry with Dr. Allen's "business operation". MONEY MONEY MONEY. IT IS NO WONDER THAT WORKING PEOPLE CAN NO LONGER AFFORD INSURANCE OR "PAY AS YOU GO HEALTH CARE"!!! the fees charged by many medical practicioners is exhorbitant, unneccessary, predatory and should be illegal. it is no wonder that insurance companies have to charge such high premiums to us, the consumers who are paying for the fancy life styles of over paid "doctors". "doctors" of extraordinary billing practices, insensitive follow up and ignorant of all but the basic customer service. on my next visit to Dr. Allen's office, being ON TIME as they ask, i waited for 8 or 10 minutes in the lobby, then was escorted to an examining room where i waited for another 20 or 25 minutes --- for NO ONE examine me --- i believe that my time is also valuable. i walked out, without being seen by a dr. that day, my last visit. in all fairness, the physician's assistant who had been my "doctor" previously did call and aplogize a day or two later for not being able to examine me that day. i just think it is bad business to treat patients as "cattle", to over book appointments, get us in the office, and then make us wait until it is comfortable for the doctor to see us, AT THEIR CONVENIENCE, WHILE IGNORING ANY AMOUNT OF INCONVENIENCES THIER TARDINESS MAY BE CAUSING US!!!
