I met Dr. Sutton in 1992 at the West End Clinic. He made me feel very comfortable that I made him my permanent OB-GYN doctor, he has delivered my last four babies they are age's from 23 to 7 year's old. I wouldn't change him for nothing because he is an awesome doctor plus he has also delivered two of my grandbabies.

Honestly I was a patient of Dr Sutton for the 7 months before I had my son and the few months after and my experience with the whole thing was a fiasco. Everytime I went in there it was an hour before they even called my name to have me pay them THEN it was another round of waiting til I did the urine and THEN another wait for me to actually go into another room to wait to the see the doctor. He was pleasant during the visits, though not friendly, so I figured if he was a good doctor then I can't hold him accountable for the overbooking. But no. When I went into labor I went to the hospital at 9 pm and was fully dilated at 6 am. He never showed. The nurses didn't even call him til 6 because that was when he was supposed to be on call. ok maybe still not his fault but then he didn't get to the hospital til 7 so they had to give me some kind of drugs to keep the baby from coming because the dr gave the nurses orders to not deliver the baby until he got there. and the other dr that was actually there at the womens pavillion wouldnt deliver because she "wasn't my dr." she actually told me this while i was fully dilated at 6 am with my son's heart in distress because the embillical cord had pressure on it from my contractions. and we apparently had to wait for the dr. "he said he's on his way and to wait for him" unbelievable. and then when he did show up he had an air of arrogance about the whole thing like this was when he was supposed to be there. no sorry you and your son had to wait an hour for me. the only reason i gave him one star was because my son is alive and healthy. i had to talk my husband and mom out of screaming at him just so we could have the baby delivered and circumcised without worrying. by the way there were only like 2 other lady's having babies that night but when my son was wheeled away and put in that observation room with the other babies in those little beds they let him lie there with no blanket no shirt on five minutes born just crying in the cold while all 3 nurses talked around him laughing about some stupid thing that had nothing to do with any of those babies well being. and when they saw my mom standing there looking at them and the baby they just ignored her and kept talking. I will never go there again and I tell everyone not to go there. Downtown hospitals have always been worse and that sealed it for me. A friend of mine from work lost her daughter there after having a baby because they let her catch an infection and told her nothing was wrong even though she told them that she was in so much pain.... even after labor and after they discharged her she didn't want to leave the hospital because she hurt so bad. then she came back a second time and they still told her that it was nothing. she had to go to a different hospital in the medical center for them to tell her she had caught an infection but by then it was too late. she died a week after giving birth and her husband has to raise two children on his own now. Its a hospital that doesnt' care and it shows by the doctors it has working there. i know sutton can't be held accountable for all the faults but his actions alone are enough for me never to visit him again.
