I was diagnosed with an adrenal gland tumor on June 6. My primary physician referred me to a surgeon of her choosing. I went to this surgeon with in a couple of days. I am having episodes of elevated hot flashes due to this tumor. I dehydrated twice in one week and called the surgeon to tell him. This surgeons nurse quickly told me this was not due to the tumor to go see my primary physician. A little confused, I went and saw my primary and received 1000 units or ml of fluid (a big bag). I left my primary's office feeling a little overwhelmed. My primary offered to find me a different surgeon. I told her I didn't really know what to do because I had already drove to flower mound to this surgeon and he was doing nothing to even make me think he was interested in my case. This went on for a few weeks. I became very ill, dehydrating about every 3 or 4 days, having to get fluid on a regular basis just to be able to stay alive until someone decided to do something.

I was losing weight and could not work or even go outside when it was hot. I googled adrenal gland specialist in Dallas and Dr. Feferman came up! Thank Goodness! I emailed Dr. Fefermans office since on the search it had a place to email this Dr. . Much to my surprise the next morning my phone rang. It was Dr. Feferman himself! Tell me this is not an oddity! This was on a Thursday morning. Dr. Feferman talked to me like a real person. I felt in this phone call THIS IS THE DR FOR ME!! After quiet a lengthy conversation, Dr. Feferman told me he would have his nurse call me back after the office opened and get me in on Friday (THIS IS THE VERY NEXT DAY).. Oh, Dr Feferman called me around 7:30 a m,. Around 10 O'clock Dr. Feferman's nurse called me back and got me in at 9 a. m the following day. This is the nicest Dr's office I have been in since I have been in Texas. Upon my arrival the young lady at the front desk greeted me with a friendly hello and some paperwork to fill out. I filled out a couple of pages and when I gave it back to the receptionist, I hardly got sit down before the nurse called me back. Tucked away in a quiet, clean examination room the Dr. came right in to see me. Dr. Feferman treated me like I was the only patient there. He ask a LOT of questions and explained all the unanswered questions I had. He drew the blood that should have been drawn a month ago so I could get the surgery done. I was informed by the first surgeon I had gone to that, this blood work had to be done in preparation for the removal of this gland. But the surgeon didn't even draw the blood! Dr. Feferman gave me lots of sample patches to find the dose that I needed for this particular drug. I felt when I left this office that this doctor was going to get me fixed up and back on the road to being healthy again! I have constantly communicated with Shannon by email. This young lady has been NOTHING BUT SWEET and accommodating to me! I was surprised to see some of the reviews about her. I think everyone should take in account this is a Specialist Office and I am sure they have a big patient load. I understand when you call, you want someone to call you back but, they stressed to me when I was there that EMAIL was the proper way to contact them for a timely response. I have communicated with Shannon on a regular basis. This young lady is Most Helpful and has made me feel like I am going to survive this. I have been horrified ever since they found this and the wait to get things done is unimaginable. I have an appointment today at 10 a.m. to get the results of this blood work that has been the hold up on the whole thing. I think Dr. Feferman's office was the perfect choice for me and my situation. I would tell anyone this is a very thorough Physicians office with the patients best interest at heart. I think Dr. Feferman saved my life because I was very sick, scared and totally confused before I went there. Now I am feeling like this tumor is NOT going to be the death of me. Dr. Feferman has assured me, this is no big deal, it just has to come out! So I am ready, educated, and good to go! Thank you Dr. Feferman and your Staff. ( Especially Shannon! ) =)

They were a little too hostile for me. They didn't seem like they wanted to listen to almost everything I had to say. They had quite a few interesting magazines and a tv show with interesting information on the endocrine system, which made my time in the waiting room go by much faster. The staff and facilities were nice, but my time with Dr. Feferman seemed rushed and he scoffed at my original Dr's diagnosis of hypothyroid. I did not feel he had my best interest in mind and I was scared that he would've pushed his own agenda instead of listening to my symptoms. I went to him as a second opinion and decided to stay with my general practice doctor.
