Dr. Heldrich was arrogant and rude throughout our appointment. She showed no concern for the health and well-being of my child, and actually spoke negatively of him in his presence. (As though he couldn't hear her!) She said, "I can't understand a word he's saying," in a tone that indicated that was his fault and she was frustrated with him. A pediatrician of her experience ought to be able to understand baby-speak and ought to know better than to speak that way in front of the child when he's trying to talk to her. It was as if she had no experience with little ones. She also showed little regard for my concerns about his labored breathing at night. She said flippantly, "We all breathe funny while we sleep." He is my fourth child. I don't run to the doctor for every sniffle and sneeze. I know labored breathing when I see it, and I found it disconcerting that because he was breathing fine in her office (after breathing treatments last night) she wasn't at all concerned about my concern. A parent's report of a child's labored breathing should be taken seriously by any pediatrician. This one let me down tremendously. We are new to the area, and we will definitely continue our search for someone more suitable to care for our children's health needs.
