My counselor encouraged me to ask my family doctor for depression medications. I am in the medical field and I know that the only type of doctor who should prescribe medications for depression or anxiety is a psychiatrist.
Thus began my quest for a psychiatrist who is caring, worries about his patients and finds solutions for each patient in a careful manner. That is Dr Richards.
He does not take my insurance. However, every penny I spend on him is more than worth it. For the first time in the last 20 years I am feeling normal. My anxiety and depression levels are so low that I do not notice them anymore.
It may sound silly but Dr Richards is an angel. He worked with me until he found the medication that was the solution to my problem. No other psychiatrist has taken the care that Dr Richards shows. i am so lucky to have found him. Dr Richards has offered to refer me to a psychiatrist that will take my insurance plan. My husband says that will not happen. He says that I am a totally different person, in a good way, now that I am being treated by Dr Richards.

Dr. Richards does not rush to a diagnosis. He spends time getting to know a patient in order to be able to accurately treat that patient. He is compassionate and responsive to the concerns of each patient. He does not act as if he is in a hurry to get on to the next patient. He is careful in prescribing medicine and careful in changing medicines. He explains his treatment approach so that the patient can understand what the medicines are for, what options there are, etc. He seems to be very knowledgeable in his field and to stay on top of new developments.

I wish all patients who need a psychiatrist could go to Dr. Richards! He has been a lifesaver for our family.
