I came into the office with a back injury barely able to walk ,unable to sit and in some of the worst pain of my life. I explained to Dr Liss that though I had chronic back problems, a recent accident brought on this terrible episode. Dr Liss's response was 'If this is a chronic injury then why are you here?' I took this to mean what are you even doing in my office. The only plausible explanation I can fathom is that Dr Liss assumed that I was a drug seeker and / or wasn't an immediate candidate for back surgery and wasn't worth his time. These are terrible conclusions to make but I cannot find any other explanation for the brash behavior towards someone suffering so incredibly.
