My 86 year old mother went to this doctor because she was bleeding. She takes coumadin, so bleeding can be fatal. The doctor scheduled her for a colonoscopy one month from the date of the office visit. My mother ended up in the ER the next day because the bleeding got worse. The ER doctor tried all day to contact Dr. Ritsema with no success. They paged her, but she did not respond to the page. The next day, my sister contacted her office to schedule the colonoscopy asap, but the receptionist said that it was the doctor's day off and she was not permitted to call her on her day off. My sister asked to speak to another doctor. The woman said that this was not possible. She said that SHE would talk to a doctor and call my sister back. It is 4 days later; we are still waiting for a return call. I would not take my dog to this doctor!

They paid close attention to me and all of my questions were answered. Their staff is very friendly and professional. I was very satisfied with my visit. They were helpful and I left feeling encouraged. Had three colonscopies by her.
I would not go to anyone else.
