My appt with Dr. Kauffan was very frusturating. I felt like my appointment was very urgent, and the one good thing I will say about the office is that they were able to schedule me very quickly to be seen. I called on a Thursday and was able to get in Friday morning.
My appt was at 9 am, I only live about 10 minutes from the office so I left at 8:35 but it was thunderstroming, so traffic was really heavy and slow, I got into the office at 9:03 am and checked in. Because I was a new pt they had me fill out all of my paperwork to get registered, which took about 10 minutes. I took my paperwork back up to registation and then waited about 15 minutes and then registration called me back up and said that since I was late for my appt (3 minutes!?) that the doctor let another pt take my time slot and he was with them and then had hospital rounds so I would not be able to get seen until 2:15 pm.
Since I felt like what was going on was urgent, I felt helpless and like I was forced to go back since I knew I wasn't able to get scheduled anywhere else.
When I came back later that afternoon, which I arrived at 2:10 for my 2:15 appt I ended up waiting 20 minutes for the doctor!
When I get into the room the nurse does so initial screening and then the doc comes in and takes me history and after about 10 minutes says "do you think this condition is related to your sexual activity?" I had put on my paperwork that that is what causes the problems and he said "Well you should have just told me that at the beginning, I had to beat it out of you!" Then his cell phone rings, which is not on vibrate, and he answers it and talked for about three minutes to someone right in front of me.
He had a nurse come in and give me a bladder ultrasound and she told me that he was going to come in to give me a pelvic exam. So he comes back in, does not tell me why is is doing it just tells me to drop my knees as he sticks his fingers around in me and then says "okay, you're done, I'm going to write you a perscription for an antibiotic to take after you have sex" and then he walked out.

Are you kidding? I don't know if I'm crazy, but I felt completely disrespected and violated by this man. I have a three month follow up that I willl definitely not be going to.

Let me just say that this business is in one of the safest areas around and you will be pleasantly surprised at how lovely the surroundings are. Not only were they able to provide everything they promised me, they went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. I don't know of anywhere else that would've taken better care of me. I had a great experience. I never have to worry about them overbooking appointments. They definitely believe in quality over quantity here and it is much appreciated.
