Dr. Van Bree diagnosed me with testicular cancer at the age of 23 in 1993 while serving his residency at County UCLA in Los Angeles, CA

He performed the surgery to remove the cancerous testicle and then diagnosed metastasized tumors. The cancer had jumped past my lymph nodes and went straight to both lungs

Dr. Van Bree advocated my case with Kaiser who had approved my health insurance application while I was under treatment in the public health system. Kaiser made my insurance retroactive to begin treatment immediately under threat of spreading to my brain. I began chemotherapy on Xmas Eve 1993. Despite that brutal 4 month battle, I survived. And thanks in large part to Dr. Van Bree and the Doctors at Kaiser I am now 44 and have a handsome 14 year old son!
