Went to see Dr Shandera after a referral from my PCP for erectile dysfunction. Tried to explain to the Dr my history, and how I had had some limited success with Cialis, but was sure there was something further going on, and expressed all of the appropriate issues and factors that could be coming into play. The Dr. barely listened, and simply sent me off with a "sample" box of Cialis (despite my saying that it hadn't really worked for me) saying that I should just take more of it, and come back in a month to see if it worked. He told me that the sample box "makes the appointement worth it".
I told him that I wasn't too crazy about the idea, particularly since I'd used it before and it wasn't really doing the job, and that while I was willing to try, I wanted to figure out what the underlying cause(s) of my problem were. I'm 41, in excellent shape/health, and have never had an issue until about the last year. I asked if there were any tests that could be done. He said that my Primary had already tested my testosterone, which was fine, and so there really weren't any other tests that could be done.
He spent a total of maybe 8 minutes in the room with me, and was very condescending. He basically told me that when guys get older, this happens. Drew a ridiculous little graph on the paper on the exam table showing the decline in erectile ability with age in men as if this was just something that had to be accepted. He couldn't get me out of there fast enough, and seemed annoyed that I'd even bothered him with the appointment.
Don't bother with this guy. He apparently has better things to do. I'm thinking it probably has something to do with selling pills for specific pharmaceutical companies.
