I worked with Larry Dekle. An unforgettable incident is when, before we saw a patient, I told Larry I had bronchitis and would be going home immediately after the session. I told him I was afraid I would have an asthma attack if he smoked and asked that he not. He agreed. The patient came in and Larry lit a cigarette. I asked if he would mind not smoking. He put it out. He also complained to my supervisor that I had had the gall to ask him not to smoke in front of a client. When I came back to work after several days out sick, I was compelled to apologize to this blow hard ass for asking him not to smoke in front of a patient. As a physician, I should think he would have understood the implications of a serious asthma attack and would have felt compelled to apologize to ME.
