Very disappointed in the lack of communication with elderly patients & their families. Appears to avoid having to communicate with family. My father was in Ashe Mem. Hospital, so I arrived early one morning in order to be there when Dr. Kurtz came by on rounds. I was told by the nursing staff, "You just missed him." I said no problem, I will go to his office later that day. Staff looked at one another, then someone said, "He isn't in the office on Wednesdays." The following week I was told by his office staff, "He isn't in the office on Thursdays." The practice is closed on Saturdays & Sundays -- I believe he has people lieing for him so he doesn't have to interact with family. Ashe County needs more options if this is the best they have.
